Part one is devoted to classical topics and provides a short review of each subject, including new advances. Chapters describe depositions techniques for optical thin films, methods of design of complex opitcal coatings, monitoring of coating fabrication, and the production technologies for high-precision coatings. Part two is dedicated to special features of optical thin films and coatings, like plasmonic effects for optical applications, scattering in random structures, thin film properties at short wave-lengths, thermal radiation control, and color effects. Chapters in part three offers information on recent developments on fim materials, starting with organic films and coatings, sufrace multipasmonics with non-homogeneous thin films, and optical films containing quantum dots. The fourth section cover applications, and represents almost half of the book.
